Christopher W. Cardinal
Graduate - 2020
Tansi,
As a proud and grateful graduate of Saddle Lake, I am humbled to have reached this significant milestone. However, I want to emphasize that my achievements are not mine alone. I dedicate this degree to the people who have supported me throughout my journey—my friends, family, community, and, most importantly, my mother in the spirit world. Each of them has played a critical role in my success, and I am forever grateful for their unwavering support and encouragement.
Throughout my journey, I have faced many challenges that tested my resilience and perseverance. However, I am proud to say that I overcame those obstacles through hard work and dedication. My medicine was breaking away from the labels and limitations that others placed on me, focusing instead on what truly mattered. As a result, I have come to view those challenges as steppingstones rather than barriers.
I am also grateful for the many good people in the trenches, fighting the good fight, who have taught me what it means to resist, stand, speak up, and be of good service to others. Their support and guidance have been invaluable in helping me achieve this goal. To all future graduates, I encourage you to follow your heart, never give up, and always remember your roots.
In closing, I want to express my gratitude to my community and loved ones.
Nininaskomitinawaw - my heart goes out to all of you.
