2023 Nutrition and Culinary Workshop

Where: Edmonton Public Library: The Teaching Kitchen, 2nd Floor Stanley Milner Library, 7 Sir Winston Churchill Square. Across the street from Canada Place Building downtown Edmonton.
Who: Invitation to attend is for cooks working in a First Nation community in Alberta. Cooks working in the following programs may be interested in this training:
Head Start
Daycare
School
Treatment Centre
Meals On Wheels
Elders Lodge
Through this workshop, participants will enhance their nutrition, menu planning, and culinary skills/confidence, network and meet new people, and share best and wise practices. Training days will be split into a half day in the kitchen cooking and a half day in classroom nutrition education. All participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the workshop.

Hosted by: the Nutrition Advisory Team, First Nations Inuit Health Branch, Indigenous Services Canada in collaboration with The Kitchen at Edmonton Public Library.
Fees: The workshop fees are paid by FNIHB. All travel costs are the responsibility of the community. Foods cooked in the kitchen will be enjoyed by participants at lunch. All other meals are the responsibility of the community.
