Fire Ban in Effect

Fire Line 780-726-3404

Dry grass, shrubs and bark mulch can easily be ignited by a tossed cigarette butt or by glass and metal that can magnify or reflect sunlight.

Although small fires are easily extinguished, and unchecked fire can spread to trees and other buildings, endangering our families, pets and animals and causing damage to homes.

Tips to prevent grass and bark fires from starting:

  • Properly discard cigarette butts and make sure they’re completely out before walking away.

  • Never throw a lit cigarette out the window of a vehicle.

  • Avoid parking your vehicle on dry grass or bark mulch, and avoid driving through long grass in warm weather to prevent the exhaust system from lighting dry grass on fire.

  • Avoid placing your propane or charcoal barbeque on grass or bark mulch.

  • Don’t burn. Fire Ban in Effect.
